I'm fortunate enough to live and work in the same neighbourhood (my daily commute is a 5 minute stroll) and it's a 'hood that I adore. West Wellington Village in Ottawa (Canada), a trendy area with delicious restaurants, wonderful boutiques, fabulous thrift stores , eclectic theatre & inspiring art galleries. In my five years in Ottawa, I've lived in four different communities and my current neighbourhood is by far my favourite. As someone who grew up in the suburbs of Nova Scotia and spent most my time in Ottawa living in high-rises, it's a nice change to be able to walk everywhere. It's only a 10 minute drive from downtown, it's quiet at night and vibrant during the day and it's an area I feel very secure and safe in, even when walking alone at night.
Do you like the area you live in? What do you think makes a good neighbourhood?
